A Birthday
A Birthday
Axis Leasing is about to celebrate its tenth birthday. Having set up Axis following a long career in banking, in both High Street banks and merchant banks such as Societe Generale and SG Warburgs, Deb Chick said its been an amazing time running an independent finance company over these recent years.
Despite many banks being bought or sold (or given away!) we have stayed loyal to our customers and maintained strong relationships with both end users and equipment suppliers.
We have also had much fun during the years and below is a short list of some of the more unusual things we have come across …
- Financing laptops for racecourse bookies who really didn’t want them but new regulations insisted. Their average age was definitely silver surfer and they became some of our favourite customers.
- Funding fencing along the A6 to keep kids away from the road.
- Kids building bricks – the underwriters couldn’t get their heads around that until we showed them how to use them.
- Tractors for a school – yes, they have farms as well now.
- Wireless networking across Camden High Street because they “forgot to wire up”
- Having to convince a major bank that mobile computing meant laptops not telephones.
So if you want to finance something weird or wonderful or both give us a ring - we’d love to add to this list.
